enthronement of the sacred heart: meaning

re: "enthronement of the sacred heart in the home"
fr: legion of mary block rosary guide, p. 27 (nd)

when we decide to ask for the sacred heart picture to be blessed and enthroned, what are we asking? what does it mean to "enthrone" the sacred heart in our home?

first of all, we are saying that we want to make it clear that our family life is goverend by the love of christ. the image of teh sacred heart is installed in a promiennt place in our home. it is acceptance of the rule of jesus christ. it is pormising god our dedication. it is also asking him for his help for the family to grow in a way of life where everything is shared with christ. the meaning of this way of life is LOVE. it is the only sure foundation for a christian family, and this love is helped to grow by family prayers at home, and attendance together at the eucharist where we make our communion.

we believe that god will bless any place where we honor this image of his LOVE for us, LOVE which is shown clearly in the life, death, resurrection of jesus christ. the sacred heart is not a thing. the image is a way we have of showing in human terms our recognition of the MERCIFUL LOVE OF GOD.

we also show that we accept and desire to follow the teachings of christ on the primary of LOVE. IT BEGINS IN THE FAMILY, which for us has great dignity and importance. in church we keep the feasts of the sacrd heart of jesus and of christ theking. the entrhonement brings these feasts into ur home so that they are not just something we celebrate in the church. let us celebreat hem everyday by making the teachings of jesus christ our rule of life!

so to "enthrone" the sacred heart is not something we do casually. it is something we do after thought and prayer. prepare for it by discussing it between yourselves what difference it will make in your home -- no swearing, no heavy drinking, no quarrelling, for example, and always attempting to say our morning and night prayers, no matter how brief, and be regular at mass every week. before the consecration of yourselves to jesus' LOVE, pary and see if you have anything on your conscience. if it is something serious, confess your sins, and make a good communion on or near the day of the enthronement. then, just as you get the home ready when you are expecting guests, you will be sept and clean and hining, to make jesus welcome in your family home.

"let the peace of christ rule in your hearts" (col 3:15).
